New Things

Yesterday Benjamin turned 22 months. I can't believe my baby is almost 2! It's ridiculous. He is talking so much these days and has started to say short phrases...like....night night, come on, my cars, help me, help you, red car, blue car, don't touch, and watch nemo. He also now says please and thank you, stands on a step stool to wash his hands, wipes his nose on his sleeve ( we didn't teach him that one...), can put his crocs on by himself, and he can take his clothes off before the bath. It's like he learned all of this stuff over night and suddenly went from my baby to my toddler. *sigh*

The baby sister is doing some new things too, she laughs (I think she started laughing at the end of March actually, but now she laughs at things Ben does and it's too cute.) She just found out that toes make good pacifiers, blowing bubbles or raspberries is fun, and just two days ago she started reaching for me! *beams with pride**  When she is in the walker, or in the high chair (chillin' not eatin') and I walk by, she sticks her little arms out and makes sweet baby noises. I love it so much. 

Not much else to report. The mantle is painted with one coat and we halted construction last night for some much needed family time. It was nice, but tonight it's back to work because I'm a little tired of the dust, and the plastic, and the tools....

Wednesday :)

Yessss! It's almost the weekend again...let the construction continue. Richard has finished most of the mantle. He just needs to cut 2 pieces of molding, fill in the nail holes, and paint. I'd love to post some pictures...but I'm going to make you all wait until it's completely finished...because..."I just want to do, what I want to do." Don't worry, when I do post, I will post the progression of start to finish. 

Really not much else going on around here....So I'll leave you with some bath pictures from the other night. I was practicing bouncing my flash...and who better to practice on than my usual subjects trapped by the bath. :)

The Great Outdoors

Last night at 1:30am Rick and I woke up to Benjamin's distant crying. Richard so graciously got out of bed and went to see what was going on...Front door wide open, Ben crying on the porch...

It's pretty scary to think that if he woke up and wasn't crying that he could be wandering the town...He is pretty good about not leaving our yard, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't. 

I usually keep a baby gate in front of the front door since he now knows how to open the dead bolt, but I guess last night I forgot. But who would think he would wake up at after 1am and venture outside?! 

Dr. Visit

I took miss Evey to the doctor on Friday for her 4 month well baby. She is 14lbs 8oz which is steady in the 75th percentile and 26.5 inches which is off the charts. She's a loooong baby! 

I do have some pictures to post...but I don't feel like it. :-P
