Baby Stuff

Well...here we are at 38 weeks.
Ben and Evey both find the self timer amusing, so we set it on the counter and put it on Auto..hence the horrible shadows from the flash. Whatever...
Like my new shirt? My sweet sister sent it to me..because she's awesome. :)
Oh yeah...went to the Dr. today, I lost 2 pounds and a cm.5 off my belly. The Dr. is the one who measures me every week and he is pretty methodical about the measuring process...so I don't know how that happened..but we'll go with it. It just means the baby has stopped being Amazon for the time being. Lol!
Next week I'll have an ultrasound to make sure all is well and assuming I don't deliver before then, induction has been scheduled for March 15. I like that, it sounds like a good day for a birthday..even if it is the Ides of March.
On that day, Rick's mom and sister will be here, and the kids will have had time to adjust to them, I won't need to worry about enjoying my full stay in the hospital, and I have a friend coming to the delivery room with me. Everything is falling into place it seems. My stress level is low, now that the contractors are out of my face and the house is clean and organized.
I had a nice pedicure today, a gift from my girlfriends..(Thank You!)
I'm ready, now all I have to do is relax and wait...but I'm used to the waiting part!

Random...

Finally got my Valentine's gift from Rick in the mail on Monday! It's a camera strap cover and I LOVE it! He ordered it two months ago, so I've been waiting awhile. It is pretty great.. =)

In other news...the house has been cleaned and sanitized. I got a little bit of an energy spurt on Tuesday, so I took that day and went crazy, cleaning and finishing the last of the organizing. Mopped all the floors (however...clean floors are short lived...), sanitized all door knobs etc. The kind of ridiculous "spring cleaning" type stuff.

Today, I had Bible study and we went to the park, then grocery shopped, then I came home and cleaned the van..and installed all three car seats for a test run. I tried four different ways before settling on the way it is now. I think it's going to work, and there is still room for extra passengers. My van is pretty great. You can't beat doors that automatically close with a push of a button. Love.

Tomorrow is my 38 week appointment. I am hoping to hear that there is progress and that this baby will be here sooner than later. I'm just ready to get this show on the road! I'm praying for God's timing and a name, but it would be nice to be somewhat adjusted (and recovered) BEFORE Rick arrives.

In other news..Evelyn is really trying to talk these days. She's doing great at imitating the sounds and intonation of words. She says help now, and shakes her head yes correctly when you ask her questions.

Ben is speaking more and more clearly, and in longer sentences. He currently says "can't" instead of "don't." i.e. "I can't want that." I love it and I know it's only a matter of time before it's another thing he learns to say the right way. He's also started saying "Thank You" instead of just "Thanks."

Basically every thing he says cracks me up and I love listening to him talk. Especially when he's recapping an event, like Sunday nursery, or story hour. He also has been saying "Jesus loves me and Evey too."

And..he has started singing. I love that I can recognize the songs he is trying to sing. This morning he was telling Evey "a story 'bout Jesus." Then he started singing "the bible tells me so." It's so sweet.

Anyway...parental musings...today was a good day. =)

Sunday....

Aren't those faces just precious?? Hahaha

*********

Sunday is by far the loneliest day of my week. It's such a quiet day and I always find myself calling my mom like 42 times in a row..or I load up the kids and wander around Walmart so I don't feel like we're the last people on earth!

Today the sun came out...and we got some new bubbles to play with. We stayed outside for a few hours and now the kids are playing and I'm sitting down.

Last night was rough. The mini people ganged up on me and before 2am had been up about 7 times. Some time after that, Ben woke up screaming in what I imagined to be terror as I flew out of bed and up the stairs..only to discover that he, "NEEDED HIS BLANKET!" They both were up several times after that too and awake for good at 7:10am. I was falling asleep in church..the kind of tired where your eyes just need to close...So my mission for today was to not allow naps and to wear the kids out, keep them busy, so we could have an early bedtime and hopefully sleep through the night.

I want to thorough clean the house too..so if I'm not too tired, maybe I'll do that after I put the kids to bed...I've just been walking around here noticing dirty hand prints on doors, dust, and various other things that bug me...

Tomorrow is hopefully the last I'll ever see of the contractor and his super crew...*eye roll*...They are coming to clean the paint off the floor, fill in some nail holes, caulk some unfinished trim, and hopefully get the paint off the couch...

We'll see....
