Bummin'

Bummin' is what Ben and I have been doing since Daddy left. It's lonely in this big house with just the two of us!

I did manage to finish the rest of the unpacking, and when I get a solid internet connection I will be posting that video tour.

The internet has been hiding from me for the past couple days and I can't seem to find to the energy to get out of the house. I wouldn't leave the house for internet alone anyway...Richard wanted me to go pick up some more oil from auto zone. He claims they had an excellent deal going on. I still haven't gotten around to that task and by the time I do, the sale will probably be long gone. :-/

I need a lawn mower. I found a good deal on a gas mower, but it's all the way on post and I just haven't been up to making that drive yet. Need to do it.

I'm excited about church tomorrow. I am so happy we drove down that road and saw that sign.
I don't think I mentioned anything about it before, but we had such a great experience in just the one time we visited. Our pastor is a 1990 graduate of Calvin Seminary. His wife is awesome and they have 4 kids. He's been at the church for about 12 years. They have an awesome worship team. And since it's the fall, many of the small group/bible study type things are just starting up again. We're going to try to get involved and I'm hoping Rick will be around enough in the next couple of months to make a couples group work for us. There is also a "Coffee Break" thing during the week for women and mom's. They have people who come and provide nursery too, so it can be a fun time to make new friends and get to know others without having to worry about the kids. Needless to say, we're both excited and happy to finally find a place where we feel "at home."

Anyway, Ben just woke up from his nap so I'm going to try and get myself out of the house...

Not Cut Out for This

Army Life that is...

If my husband could ever be prepared for more than just the minute, I'd be amazed. However, I have to admit that I love how he loses track of all his stuff and my amazing memory always knows where to find it.

He spent the morning packing for his field exercise, Ben spent the morning being a whiner, and I spent the morning stressed.

Around noon we drove on post and I sat in the car while Rick figured out where to put all his stuff.

As I sat there, strykers and humvees rolled by making the reality of impending deployment all to real for my overly emotional, pregnant self. So...of course I had to cry. I tried not to let Rick see me, but he always knows.

You can know it's coming (separation) and think you are mentally preparing yourself, but when the time comes you are never really ready (atleast I'm not). That being said...it's going to be a long week. Life is so pointless if you have no one to share it with.

Anyway...I'm a little down on life now, I just came from the post. Rick's convoy isn't leaving until late tonight, so he talked me into coming back to post to have dinner with him. I'm glad I did, but I hate saying goodbye twice.

Now I'm sitting in the Panera parking lot to pass some time and feed my internet addiction.
*sigh* (Everyone throw a pity party for me....1, 2, 3, awwwwwww)

Heh..

The work in progress. Don't you love our new bike hooks? We do! And notice the book shelves, Richard got them from a library that was throwing them away!
Those boxes in the front are garbage that is now gone...but with limited storage, this is about as good as it gets!

Now here's something in the house that doesn't need much improvement.... ;)

The cleaned up Master Bedroom...still needs a little something eh?
Today I finally got around to the master bath and the hall way, I'll take some pics of those soon..but for now you'll have to enjoy what I can give you. I'm happily mooching internet from Panera Bread while sitting in Mcdonalds!

It's A....

GIRL!
:)
Ok, That being said...
My doctor is great. For a first impression any way. He's old school, and he will be the one delivering the baby. Which is nice to know. If I'd had the baby in AZ, it could have been anyone!
He is a little nerdy...but I like that. He answered all my questions and didn't make me feel dumb/lame at any time. He did check out my pelvis and determined, "Oh yeah, you could get out an 8 or 9 pounder." If that's TMI I'm sorry, I thought it was pretty hilarous. Richard did too.
As far as the house, we're pretty much done. I'm going to have to make some extra money (hopefully with photography) so that we can make our house a home with some furniture. Our bedroom has a bed and a lamp and that's it. It looks so empty. We need a computer desk too. We don't have any end tables or coffee tables for downstairs or for the loft, and I would really like to trade in our wal-mart table for something a little nicer.
All in due time I guess, ya can't have it all...
Benjamin is doing well. He loves all the new space we have. He loves ripping stuff out of drawers and cupboards. We're working on that. He also has decided that shredding the toilet paper to put tiny pieces into the toilet is a fun task. He's saying a few more things. For us, it is usually very easy to know what he wants.
In other news...Monday can't come fast enough! Rick is leaving this Wednesday, so I'll be alone and disconnected from the world. I hate that. This connection I'm dealing with today is only by chance...It used to be that the only place I could mooch my one bar was on the porch, then I could get it in the foyer, but only if the computer was placed just right; half on the tile and half on the carpet...Now, I've found I can get one bar from the same connection (a mystery linksys 5) in our bedroom. I can only do this if I open the window and put a book under the computer. Desperate much?
Anyway, I've got things to do..more putting away, more organizing, more cleaning, and maybe some eating too. ;)

Quick Update

  • Master Bedroom and Loft are now complete!
  • I have found a 1 bar internet connection to mooch from once again....our high speed internet is coming, but not until next Monday! :-/
  • Today is the day we should know the sex of the baby, stay tuned!
  • Richard is leaving me on Wednesday for 9 days. :(
  • It's amazing how empty a house can look when you don't have furniture to fill it...
  • The grass is starting to sprout in the backyard
  • I have pictures of the house on facebook. I think I posted a link in an August post
  • I have pictures of our house with stuff in it, but it will take too much time to post them now and I don't trust the internet. Look for a video tour when it's all said and done.

That's all I've got for now. Looks like you haven't been missing much. It's off to eat something and get ready for the doctor. :-D We're pretty excited...and Richard gets to come too!
