21 Months

So...Evelyn just turned 21 months old. I hardly recognize this little girl she's turned into!
Side Note...Like my little stool? Goodwill find for 2.50! :) She loves it. It's "yeh-woh." She keeps sneaking it into the bathroom and sitting it next to "Ben's" white one.

Blogging is Hard.

We have been super busy hanging out with our great friends, building various things, cleaning and organizing our home, and just genuinely enjoying being together as a family.

We found this antique bed and it's twin at a garage sale for $8 each! I must tell you stripping paint from spindles is pretty much a nightmare...FIVE LAYERS worth!! And..paint stripper BURRRRNS the skin.
This is the sweet lumber for our current secret project.....

Here is the picnic table we built using the plans for a small kids picnic table over at Ana White's Knock Off Wood. The plans were incredibly easy, I'll even go as far as to say I MOSTLY built this. The little table on the side there, Rick built from scratch before he deployed, but I decided to paint it the same color as the picnic table. The kids picked the color, Buzz Light year Blue, which I am pretty sure they only picked because the swatch was on Mickey Mouse ears.
In other news...our newly sitting daughter has suddenly decided to transition to pre-crawling. She is up on hands and knees and rocking back and forth. She can even scoot short distances and/or roll to get where/what she wants. It's cute and amusing. Even with kids so close together, I seem to forget every single time how babies learn.
Evelyn is talking more and more. It seems like every other word is a new one. Today, while I was feeding Addy and Ben was watching a movie, she was playing with the kitchen set. She was pressing buttons and saying "beep, beep, beep, food, cook" Then she picked up the phone and said, "Daddy, home! Daddy, home!" She makes me laugh.
And Ben these days?? Well..he never stops asking "why." Sometimes it's annoying, but we do enjoy watching him figure things out and wonder why/how things work. He takes after his daddy in that way. ;)
