Backyard and Misc...

This pic is from the backyard today...snack break!

Today we went to church and then after church we checked out the new playground near our house. I didn't have my camera with, but it has a spectacular view of Mt. Rainier. While were there, a little boy was there too. He was alone and just a bit taller than Benjamin. He was very aggressive, pushing, hitting, kicking, swearing at anyone who crossed his path. Including Ben, and Rick...and I didn't get touched physically, but he yelled profanities at me...Ben was pushed down and Richard was bitten! :-O And no mom or dad to be found. Sad. No little kid should have that much rage. 

After lunch we decided to take advantage of the gorgeous day and finish up the backyard. We gave up on the grass growing and got some sod..and while Rick was on the phone to his brother I ripped out all the dead bushes and then we put in a fence. We didn't sod the entire yard, only the flat surface so that Ben could have a place to play. I re-seeded the rest after the fence was finished and then Rick fertilized it all. So hopefully we'll have a nice lush backyard in no time.

This was after we already put down the sod yesterday. Near the bushes is the sad grass that we had attempted to grow...And here is the finished project. 

The grass still needs some work and I am planning to get some rose bushes or plant some wild flowers along the fence..something to add a little color. The yard looks 10x bigger with those nasty dead trees gone. And the fence creates a good barrier between Ben and the "pit of death."

It was a good, warm, sunny day...and tomorrow is supposed to be great too! :)

We're home! 

We had such a great time. I would go every month if I could (except I would prefer to teleport instead of fly...).
