Anyway...I've been reading over my posts from the past year, we led pretty exciting lives. I'm sorry life isn't that exciting to read about at this time...maybe when Winter is over and Rick comes home.
Last night I tackled the blind hanging project with the help of our friend Rob. The instructions said it should take 15 minutes...riiight. Maybe with my handy husband...2 hours and 42 holes later...the blinds are up and they look pretty nice. LoL. I will take a picture to post later.

In other news...Evelyn is still doing great with the formula. However with some reading I've been doing and talk among other moms, I am beginning to feel quite guilty for giving up on breastfeeding so soon. She most likely is allergic to cows milk protein (rash, spitting up, green/watery poop). I could take her in to have her tested, but I don't think it's necessary given the tremendous change with the soy formula.
I still have milk and only stopped pumping a day or two ago. I am debating whether I want to start pumping again and cut out all dairy from my diet and then try feeding her again. I love cereal though..and pizza...everything else I wouldn't really mind cutting out, but I don't really even know what I eat. I'd probably be skinnier if I cut out pizza for a year and maybe I could try drinking soy milk so I could still have cereal. I don't know.
I was ok with my decision to stop breast feeding because she changed so drastically with soy. AND she had a terrible latch, she could eat, but if I moved at all she'd just fall off. Frustrating for both of us. I know she was eating though because of how much she was spitting up. She just seemed to prefer the bottle. I think she is a little lazy too, the bottle is easier. Now the guilt is setting in and I don't like feeling like I am short changing Evey in some way. Suggestions, advice? :-/
don't feel guilty... maybe try cutting back on your milk products and mixing some of what you pump with the soy formula...
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comment below (or above however blogger does it). There is no need to feel guilty. Each child is different and requires different things. If she likes the soy and is doing well on it, maybe that's whats right for her? Maybe try pumping and try cutting out different things, it could be a lot of things. I know Chloe reacted to red sauce and caffeine (even the littlest bit). Which is why I'm a little scared with this next kid and I might be doing the soy thing too after a little while , just depends on our life at the time and in I can actually make BF work.
ReplyDeleteWell, I saw the change first hand.. and I say, Evey loves her bottle. She has a WAY better latch on that thing, and that probably also helps with her gas problems. There are million of bottle-fed children that have turned out just as healthy as breast babies. No need for guilt my friend. You could go through all of the trouble to cut dairy from your diet and end up with the same result and more misery for Evey. We know she's happy, and if you are too, who cares what other people make you feel like! You're a wonderful mother who only wants the best for her babies. Love you!
ReplyDeleteDon't feel guilty!
ReplyDeleteBUT, if you do go back to BFing, my mom had to do the same thing with me...I was allergic to dairy and she couldn't even butter her toast without me barfing everywhere!
She said it was awesome because she was the skinniest she'd ever been with the biggest ta-tas from nursing! ;)
But honestly, I don't know if I could do it, so do NOT feel bad if you don't!! That would be really tough!
