Yesterday & Today

Just more days spent with our realtor. He really has been so good to us. I know it's kind of his job, but he's really made this house hunting good, maybe even fun, for us. He even showed us the new house he's building. We've realized that he is apparently quite wealthy. His new house is almost finished except for a stair rail here, and the theater. It's 6,000+ square feet of pure gorgeous. Sitting on 1 acre of land with an awesome stone deck/patio. All the door handles are iron, it's 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms. The kitchen is to die for. Hard wood throughout. The master suite is amazing. It has a steam room. It's straight out of MTV Cribs.
Before you think he sounds cocky for sharing all of his wealth, it's mainly because of our questions. Richard and I are both curious, and my mom would tell you I'm just nosey (which is only half true).
Anyway, we saw his house and few others yesterday, nothing that really caught our eye. That's been the case all week. We found two that we like, but nothing is decided yet. I don't know if I mentioned it, but the wait for on post housing is confirmed 3-4 months minimum. Idealy we would like to be moved in and settled before the baby comes. So, the on post option is now less appealing.
Today, we slept in, and then had lunch at Panera Bread. I have to tell you, we've both been craving it for about 3 years. Literally, that is how long it's been since we've eaten there. We were both delighted to find our soups of choice, broccoli cheese for Rick and potato for me. In addition they had chocolate chip, cinnamon crunch, and dutch apple & raisin bagels. Absolutely delicious. Benjamin liked it too. We got him a grilled organic cheese sandwich. Which he gobbled up. It's rained here the past three days, but we didn't mind. We had our comfort food and a fireplace and it was great. :)
We wandered around Home Depot for awhile. We were seeing what some upgrades might cost for the homes we've seen that need a face lift. So we priced paint, tile, bathroom fixtures, etc. That was fun...
We saw a few more homes and met with a mortgage lender...so we'll keep you posted.

  1. You should just ask your real estate guy if you could rent a few of the rooms and bathrooms in his place. Ha ha!
Can't wait to see what you guys choose.
Ben is looking like such a little man now, so cute!
